Scavenging

We are packing and getting ready to move up to our apartment in Newburgh! In addition, we have been scouring Craigslist for old furniture - particularly chifferobes. We found a children's one for $25 in Long Island that could double as a changing table. I'm sanding that puppy right off:

And a bigger one from the Upper West Side for $120. It's a little busted, but just the right size for a guest bedroom.

I'm thinking of painting them, but Eddie wants to just give them a cleaning and nice finish. I guess I could always paint it later on, when we're moved into our house.

  1. I didn't realize when you said, "I'm sanding that puppy right off" that you LITERALLY meant that there is a puppy on the door. Wow.

Have you ever tried Howard Restor-A-Finish? It works incredibly well, and with minimal effort.

  3. Gotta love a chiffarobe!! I go with the sanding and re-varnishing option, but we'll see how that goes. Can't wait to help you guys out up at the mini-mansion!
